Unity (https://unity3d.com/) has become the go-to software for creating games for both Indie and AAA game companies. Although there are several game engines out there, such as Unreal, Game Maker, Construct 2, Unity is, in this developer’s opinion, the easiest to use engine to get a game quickly out the door with professional quality.
In this session, we will explore what Unity is, the basics of the interface, and by the end of the session will have a working 2d game. In preparation for the class, please come with the latest Unity installed. If you would like, feel free to bring images to plug into the game, for instance, the main character, or enemies you can throw things at. If you don’t bring custom images, I will provide standard assets for you to use. Although there will be programming involved, no programming experience is necessary as all code will be provided and we will carefully step through it. The recommended age is 8+.
