Storytelling is integral to the delivery of meaningful user experiences, and video has become the dominant medium for telling our stories. Thanks to smartphones and social media, the reach of video and its impact on how we consume information as never been greater. The statistics speak for themselves: https://www.wordstream.com/blog/ws/2017/03/08/video-marketing-statistics

If you're designing experiences for employees, partners, customers, or policymakers, then video must be part of your digital strategy. This month we'll take a deep dive into the world of video storytelling with three experts in the field.

  1. Susanna Pak - "Telling engaging video stories at the UN"

Susanna manages multimedia production at the International Trade Centre – the joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization – using video, words, and tweets to put a human face on trade issues in developing countries. Susanna has previously produced stories for Bloomberg News in New York and a TV station in Hawaii. Her work has been published by United Nations TV, Bloomberg News, The Washington Post, and The Huffington Post, among others. Twitter handle: @susannapak

  1. Jennifer MacLeod - "How to craft effective video"

Jennifer MacLeod’s love of good stories led her to a 16-year audio-visual career, working with creative teams producing film & television for domestic, US and international markets. Now as founder and digital media producer at Jenneve Digital, she is back behind the camera, in the editing chair, and producing video content and audio podcasts. Nothing makes her happier than sharing her passion for digital storytelling. Website: https://jenneve.com/

  1. Peter Sibley - "From video activism to video democracy in your hand"

Peter Sibley is the Executive Chairman of wtv., a leading international communications agency established with offices across Europe and Asia. Peter started his video career in pop videos, journalism, and advertising and became a TV producer for Greenpeace in his 20's at the birth of video activism. wtv. has produced many thousands of hours of moving image content for leading companies, organisations, governments, and broadcasters. Peter has been based in the Lake Geneva region for almost 20 years and recently launched a new digital video creation platform: www.crewstudio.com.
