What we’re about

We are a relaxed and friendly cycle touring group that rides every Sunday morning and Thursday evenings. We also organise weekend trips and go on two or three tours abroad each year to fantastic places like spain , Italy and france

Sunday Cycle Plan
Meet at 9:15 am, head off on a different route each week, stop for coffee and a chat, and usually finish by 2 pm.
Sometimes, we drive or take the train to the starting point.

Basic Guidelines

Helmets are required.

Keep your bike in good working order.

On narrow roads, cycle single file and follow all traffic rules.

If you can’t make it, please update your RSVP.

Which Ride Suits You?
🟢 Easy – Ideal for beginners.

🟠 Medium – For regular cyclists with good fitness.

🔴 Difficult – For experienced riders looking for a challenge.

Cycle to Trim Castle 🏰

Maynooth Train Station, Maynooth, Kildare, IE

Today we cycle to the historic Trim Castle, an Anglo Norman stronghold which stands on a bend of the Boyne River, in County Meath
Our ride from Maynooth along the Royal Canal winds past the quaint village of Summerhill.

80km, Back roads, Mostly flat

**NOTE We begin in MAYNOOTH.
To get to Maynooth, you can
1. Cycle there
2. Get the commuter train (which takes bikes), which leaves from Connolly Station at 948am
(also stops in Drumcondra and Cabra)

Here is our plan for the day.

  1. We meet and leave Maynooth train station at 10:35am.
  2. We stay mostly on canal bank and quiet roads to Trim.
  3. In Trim, we stop for coffee at stonewall cafeand we will have some time to look at the castle
  4. It's back roads to the Phoenix Park, where we finish our cycle.

Please wear a helmet and bring a tube, etc., in case of a puncture.
