Edge of the Mountain Sport & Social - NOCO/WY

A very enjoyable, quick 58-miles, this route shoots you north through Waverly before heading west onto “Dead Pig Road”. On the north side of Dead Pig, you can also find a little Madonna shrine. You’ll then shoot back south with some meandering through the Laporte neighborhood, Reservoir Ridge, and Kestral Fields before linking back up with the Poudre Trail to head back to where you started. About 1700 ft. We'll ride at an intermediate pace (14ish mph). No drop. It's about 50/50 pavement/gravel. The weather for Saturday looks near perfect for late October. Sunny and 71F high (cooler at 8am of course).

I did this last year. Very fun. I think the best way to do it is get there relatively early in the evening, right when it opens to avoid most of the lines. So, we'll plan on carpooling from FC at 4 to be sure to be there when it opens at 6.

Basic General Admission ticket is $32.99+$2.00 for timed entry at 6. Plus a $5.00 "ticketing fee." My total was $39.99. LOTS of upsells - Cut the Line, Escape Rooms, Bars, Ax Throwing, Photos, etc. I'm skipping all of those, but feel free if you're into any of them. We'll plan on spending a couple of hours there (it's a whole complex).

We can discuss carpooling when the time gets closer, but a good place to meet would probably be the South Transit Center at Harmony/I25.

I hope everyone is enjoying their fall as the days get cooler and shorter. This coming Thursday is looking nice weather wise so thought i'd post a hike to one of our old favorites Pineridge Natural Area.
Let's plan to meet at the Dixon Reservoir Parking area at Pineridge Natural Area on the northwest side of Dixon Reservoir at 5 and plan to leave shortly after. We'll plan to go a little over 3 miles total with minimal elevation gain.
Apres hike dinner for anyone interested in Fort Collins.
