Several people expressed interest in a meetup on the subject of designing beautiful responsive layouts. Well, one reason people like page builder plugins is because they make it easier to create page layouts.
There are serious problems with some page layout plugins, but Beaver Builder (https://www.wpbeaverbuilder.com) is one of the better ones--and the new Beaver Themer lets you use Beaver page layout to create WordPress page templates (as opposed to just individual pages), like Post, Page, Archive, and maybe header and footer too.
Pieter Hartsook has been using the combination of Beaver Builder and the Genesis Theme Framework for his client sites, and has offered to demonstrate creating layouts with (comparative) ease.
