A fun packed extra-long summer weekend exploring the Yorkshire Dales from the small town of Settle. The trip will consist of four walks, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday using the train line from Settle up through the dales which should avoid us having to use cars
Saturday (Whernside 9miles/15km and circular), Sunday (Ingleborough, 10miles/16km), Monday (I Pen-y-ghent or Penyghent, 10miles/16km) Tuesday (Settle to Stainforth 8.5mile/14km).
Please note these hikes are yet to be finalized and may be done in a different order closer to the day depending on weather or transport conditions.
The North York Dales is an upland area containing some of the largest expanses of heather moorland in the UK; the area was designated in 1952 as a national Park.
Lunch and Finish: Please bring a packed lunch and water for the walk. The hikes finish at about 5pm and include a 30 min lunch stop, however the time may be earlier or later than this depending on the weather and pace.
