Joseph Bonneau (http://www.jbonneau.com/) will present a technique for decentralized prediction markets and order books, utilizing a block chain. He will give the advantages of decentralization and then turn to the proposed mechanisms, including trust agility: each market has its own specified arbiter and users can choose to interact in markets that rely on the arbiters they trust. Joseph is a post-doc at Stanford with Dan Boneh (http://crypto.stanford.edu/~dabo/). See this paper (http://www.jbonneau.com/doc/CBEKMN14-WEIS-decentralizing_prediction_markets.pdf) for more background on the material in his talk.
We will also have a demo from Augur (http://www.augur.net/) of their blockchain-based prediction-market, and an introduction to http://Fairlay.com , a Bitcoin-based prediction market from Martin Köppelmann.
