Platform: Making the World a Radically Better Place: The Ethical Connection.

Presenter: Lois Kellerman, Ethical Culture Leader

Topic Notes: Larry Page, co-founder of Google-X (the secret dream cave for conjurers of products that will “make the world a radically better place”) recently told Charlie Rose how he might go about actualizing such an ambitious goal.

Presenter, Lois Kellerman speculates on how such a goal might be approached from an ethical point of view, explaining why she believes the ethical dimension of reality must precede even the most amazing visions of technology.

Lois Kellerman worked as full-time Senior Leader of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture until she and her family moved to California. She has advanced degrees in Education and Psychology, served on the Board of the Harvard-based Lawrence Kohlberg Moral Education project, and Co-hosted the Columbia University Moral Education Seminar (founded by John Dewey). She is an author of “Marriage from the Heart” (Viking Penguin) based on a fourteen year action-research project that sought to identify core values related to living the ethical questions.

After the discussion, join us for conversation and light refreshments.

Thought provoking and inspirational platform speech was presented by Lois Kellerman, a local Ethical Culture Leader. Cheerful and fun musical interludes. Good question and answer period. Glad I attended and met some new folks attending for the first time.
