What we're about
Upcoming events (5+)
Anyone with daytime availability? How about some bid euchre? We'll be joining an event that the library hosts. It's open to the public, a Cards and Games Party. Runs from 2-4. Refreshments and door prizes available. ***Breaking news!!! After about 2 years, the intersection at Gravois and Musick is reported to be open. I haven't been by there myself, yet, but read in the local paper that it is now open.*** Background: Someone on our community Nextdoor site posted looking for a group to play Bid Euchre. There are several others who have expressed interest, so we have set up a time to meet. Thought I'd post here in case anyone else would like to play or learn. There will be some coming who are new to euchre and some who are new to bid euchre. The difference is mostly in the way trump is selected. It's one time around with chance to bid-highest bid names trump. Scoring is based on bid, rather than traditional 1, 2, or 4 points.
For those of you that live or work in Illinois side of the Mississippi, Misty is hosting Euchre just for you. Come out and play. New players also welcome at this event. If your running late, it's ok come on out and play. We're playing at an Irish Pub. Nothing better, euchre, food, and beer. If you can't make it this week, but are interested in future weeks, please sign up so Misty can gauge interest for future events in Belleville, Illinois. Please don't look at attendance & decide not to attend. Sometimes folks don't sign up & the events are also posted on the facebook page as well.
http://www.2019grandprixcardstournament.com/ NOTE: The rules will be almost entirely aligned with OhioEuchre. I will update the rules as they currently exist on the website (See address above.). The following information is reliable: -You can register as partners OR individually, in which case you will be paired with a partner randomly. -You will keep the same partner throughout all phases of the tournament. -You will play GUTS: You don't have to have trump to pick it up, order it up or make trump. You must play with all 9s and 10s. -$50 entry fee (in advance). -Schedule: Fri., Sep. 27: 4p-6p (Registration); 6p-10p (Qualifier Tournament) Sat., Sep. 28: 9a-9p (Qualifier Tournament Continues; Finals Tournament; Consolation Tournament) Qualifier Tournament: 10 rounds of eight hands each (total cumulative points).
