About us
This is a hiking and social group for people who, like me, take life at a slow and steady pace. I love the outdoors, travel and hiking. I also love the arts. Hikes will be mostly medium-length ( 2 - 6 miles) with elevation gains of under 1500 feet and a pace of book time +50%. Older people who have slowed down, younger folks who are just starting out, people who are overweight and want to get moving, people who are recovering from an injury, people who occasionally like to stop and take pictures or smell the roses...anyone who wants to take things at a slower pace. Like the tortoise, we keep a steady pace and always get there in the end. Hikes and other events take place all year round and in various locations!

I am sitting in the Center Mezzanine, Row O Seat 110. (These are the "cheap seats" - labeled "F" on the seat map.) There were still a few left at this price. Plenty of other seats available in different price ranges.“Real? Who wants real?… I want magic!” The sweltering heat of a New Orleans summer sets the tone for the simmering tensions that crackle and spark between the unforgettable characters of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, set to André Previn’s luminous score. Magnetic but self-deluded Blanche DuBois leaves her Mississippi hometown and seeks shelter with her sister Stella and her husband Stanley. Clinging to a romanticized image of the past, she quickly finds herself at odds with the domineering Stanley, whose brutal realism clashes ruthlessly with her worldview. Cruelty, desire, illusion, and fear of change are on raw display as the resulting events send everyone involved careening toward destruction.

I will be there by 5:45 so we can get seats together.Studio Theatre Worcester is proud to present a staged reading of Ghostlight on the Fifth. This tremendous new work by playwright Carlos Fruzzetti is in development as part of our First Stages initiative. This public-facing staged reading, directed by Jada Lawyer, is a crucial checkpoint in this play's development as it provides the playwright with insights from the audience perspective. We also invite you to join us following the reading for a brief 30min feedback session, moderated by our Producer and Dramaturg, Amanda Tafeen.
