BEACH BLANKET BABYLON (before it's gone)
Hosted by Dazzling Divas ~ San Francisco
Details
Beach Blanket Babylon- San Francisco's famous and favorite musical revue- closes its doors forever on December 31st. There's only a short time left to see it, and tickets are almost sold out! I found a date in October with a few spaces still available. Grab a ticket now before it's too late.
This event requires an advance ticket, which are extremely limited. The registration is a little different:
- PURCHASE A TICKET FOR THE THURSDAY OCTOBER 17 show here:

SHOW PROOF OF PURCHASE. Your confirmation # is fine, or a screen-shot of the email.

I WILL ADD YOUR NAME TO THE "GOING" LIST. Meetup will send you and email notice, and I will message you as well.
Ignore the Meetup line that RSVPs are closed. RSVPS are open as long as tickets are available, but it's not possible for members to RSVP without a ticket.
ABOUT THE SHOW: As the longest-running show of its kind in the world, this raucous musical revue show has lured locals and tourists for 45 years. Possibly best known for the amazing hats and absurd costumes, it spoofs topical references, with a mildly bawdy sensibility. The "plot" of each show is Snow White’s search for Prince Charming, but Beach Blanket Babylon circumnavigates the globe, encountering figures such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Tha Kardashians, The Golden State Warriors, and whoever else might be in the news that week.
The show starts at 8:00 PM. The doors open at 7:00 and people often line up in advance. We'll get there at 7:00 and try for seats together (if you decide to go for the reserved seating, you can arrive as late at 7:45). Will-call is open all day, so arrive a little early to get your tickets at the window (note that tickets are non-transferable. You will need to show ID With the name of the purchaser)
CLUB FUGAZI sells beer, wine, and soft drinks at their CASH ONLY bar. Let's face it, the show is probably a lot more fun after a glass or two of the bubbly! Pre or post-show dinner can be found throughout the neighborhood.
GETTING THERE:
BEACH BLANKET BABYLON is inside CLUB FUGAZI is at 678 Green Street between Columus and Powell.
DRIVING Parking on North Beach can be difficult and pricy. There's a parking garage on top of the Police Station on Vallejo (safest spot in town, and a terrific view from the top level), Club Fugazi recommends SpotHero for a guaranteed place:

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Muni Lines 8, 30, 39, 41, and 45 all land within a block of Beach Blanket Babylon. BART users should exit at either Powell or Montgomery Station and board the Muni bus at Geary and Kearny.
October 17 seems a long way off, but tickets are selling fast - I couldn't find anything for September. If you haven't seen this show before, don't miss this opportunity. If you're a BBB veteran, this may be one of your last chances to be reminded of this San Francisco treasure.
