This meet up group is dedicated to the ongoing development , sharing, and education of new, experienced and professional firearms enthusiasts. A meeting place for like minded people to explore and enjoy the safe and effective use of firearms for defense, security and hunting purposes.

All classes listed are either conducted by or sponsored by Florida Firearms Training. We also welcome our members to advise and post up other firearms related events to the site.....Let us know what you want and we will endeavor to deliver it!

Home Defense Room Clearing Level One

Miami

Every day civilians obtain firearms for personal protection inside the home, yet rarely do they have the opportunity to train in such an environment. In this course, you will receive professional training in the art of room clearing / tactical movement in and around a building. Students will learn how to best negotiate hallways, doorways, large rooms, small rooms, dark rooms, and familiar and unfamiliar rooms / buildings. We will teach you to fight in a confined space, with an elevated heart rate and in high-stress situations under the guidance of professional instructors. The class will be taught in a purpose-built shoot house and participants will use airsoft weapons in force-on-force scenarios against live adversaries. This course is structured to be intense and dynamic, to take you out of your comfort zone. Students will be required to make ongoing decisions while under stress.

Skills and requirements needed coming into this class:
- Must be comfortable with chosen firearm while shooting in a traditional static range environment.
- Must be familiar with basic manipulation and use of chosen firearm
- Must have concealed weapons permit or have completed criminal background check

Required Prerequisite Course:
- Advanced Defensive Handgun Level One
or
Proof of Completion of Comparable Course such as Louis Awerbuck (Tactical Handgun 1), Clint Smith (Defensive Handgun), Pat Rogers (Pistol 1) , Gunsite (250 Pistol), Tactical Response (Advanced Fighting Pistol)

Equipment:
There is no Live-Fire in this course.
- Airsoft Pistol, gas or electric pistol (preferably a replica of your carry weapon)*
- 150 Airsoft BBs*
- Face mask or goggles*
- Spare gas, batteries or charger for your airsoft pistol*
- Clothing that allows you to work from the ground.
- Long sleeve shirt and pants (you will get dirty)
- Notepad and pen
- Gloves
- Knee pads, recommended
*Equipment Rental, if needed IS PROVIDED at no additional fee. This includes airsoft pistol, ammunition and mask.

Maximum Student to Instructor Ratio: 6:1

Night Fight Pistol Training

This course will be held in complete darkness. Students

Night Shoot
will be taught the correct use of flashlight and mounted lights to identify and engage threats. Topics covered include: equipment selection, drawing and correct manipulation of various flashlights, moving and shooting in the dark, sighted and instinctive shooting in the dark, shooting from cover, and reloading techniques including speed loads and tactical reloads in the dark. This is NOT a basic class. All student should be safe and well-versed in the use of their pistols before attending.

Skills and Requirements Needed Coming Into this Class:
- Must be competent with the manipulation and use of your chosen firearm
- Must have concealed weapons permit or have completed criminal background check
- Safety is paramount. All participants must be experienced shooters who are competent with their chosen firearm. This class is not to teach you the fundamentals of drawing and reloading your firearm. Students are expected to have this knowledge prior to the course to promote safety and optimal learning.

Florida Concealed Weapons Permit Course

This is the required State of Florida certificated basic safety course, that covers firearms safety, on range qualification, individual legal responsibility and Florida law requirements. Cost includes class, range time, ear & eye protection if needed, State CWFL application pack and all class room materials. Please note: This class is for experienced shooters who can demonstrate basic handgun knowledge and safety. If you are not an experienced shooter, please register for the Handgun Intro Class below which will also meet the requirements to apply for your Florida Concealed Weapon of Firearm License.
Course Level: Intermediate
Cost: $65
Length: 2 Hours
Ammunition Required: 25 rounds
Equipment Required: None. Handgun, and Eye & Ear Protection Rental are Included in the Course Fees
Prerequisites: Students must be 21 years or older and able to demonstrate competency with a handgun.

Advanced Defensive Handgun Level One

Course Brief:
Shooting at the range and shooting in a life and death situation, are two completely different things. This defensive pistol course will guide you through the basics of utilizing your firearm under stress conditions. Topics covered include: stance, combative drawing, mastering trigger control, mastering recoil, stress fire, tactical target engagement and point shooting.

Skills and Requirements Needed Coming Into this Class:
- Must be comfortable shooting on your own in a traditional static range environment.
- Must have shot at least 1000 rounds through the gun you will be using prior to this class (500 rounds of which must be within last 12 months).
- Must understand how your gun functions and be able to load, unload, show clear. Students who need help with loading or unloading their firearm (or magazine) or struggle with understanding and handling basic malfunctions are not prepared for this class.
- Must be familiar and competent with your chosen handgun and using consistent fundamentals at a level of unconscious competency.
- For semi-automatic handguns, must be able to pull the slide back and lock it open (back) and clear a malfunction (jam).
- Must demonstrate a firm understanding of and respect for basic firearm safety rules and range etiquette.
- Must possess the mental and emotional fortitude to handle the stress of shooting in close proximity to other people. You will be working from a holster, shooting and moving NEXT to other shooters without barriers between you.
- Must have concealed weapons license or provide a copy of a recent criminal background check.
