What we're about

Come and play tabletop games with us!

Whether you've only played Scrabble and Monopoly, or can throw down with the best 18XX'ers, come out and join us at the table.

Our group meets for Open Gaming at the Boardwalk Cafe (http://www.abbyboardwalk.com/) and the Clearbrook Library (https://fvrl.bibliocommons.com/locations/CB), where we play a large variety of card, board, and roleplaying games. You can also find us throughout the week hosting smaller groups and playing specific games that may not otherwise make it to the table. We're definitely growing and always on the lookout for new best friends.

We're glad you found us; there's plenty of room at the table.

PS — If you're into designing games or simply thinking about them critically, check out our other Meetup group, Fraser Valley Playtesters (https://www.meetup.com/Fraser-Valley-Playtesters/).

These sessions are open to anyone, of any experience, interested in tabletop wargaming. Instructions will be be provided to all newcomers and available instructional videos or rule PDFs will be posted beforehand in the game description. From grand strategic board games to tactical miniature wargames, we will be cycling through several of the best historical, fantasy, and science-fiction titles. Also, many of the wargames we'll play are not solely militaristic conflicts, but incorporate elements of political negotiation, technological innovation, and exploration. A few of the larger strategy games require a minimum of 3 or 4 players to be enjoyable. If the number of RSVPs doesn't reach the minimum, switch to another wargame that requires a smaller player count. A great thing about wargames is that the best ones are for two players. --- Cover Charge Boardwalk Cafe charges a $5 cover to play games.
