Free and Open Source Singapore 2nd Meetup

Hosted By
Kang Ghee K. and Darrel C.

Details
Hi, venue confirmed at HackerSpace SG.
A> Potential talks include:
- How open source programming like MIT App Inventor is being introduced to schools in Singapore. It helps to open the door for open source to enter the mindset of the population from a young age. Demonstration with Micro:Bit might be possible.
- Open source software in Art. Open source software is, sometimes, better, when creating art. Live demonstration of drawing if venue is suitable.
- Tony Chen (Pheng Heong) has read some of these materials about FOSS, and he has heard of some attitudes towards FOSS which he plans to base his very short talk. Not more than 5 minutes. These are the articles that you could also read, then air your views after hearing his.
- 'Roads and Bridges: The Unseen Labor Behind Our Digital Infrastructure. https://tinyurl.com/foss-sg-eghbal
- 'The Cathedral and the Bazaar' https://tinyurl.com/foss-sg-raymond
B> Open sharing and networking
Simple refreshments will be provided. Not a full dinner though, so please eat before coming. Otherwise, we can adjourn for supper nearby afterwards.
NOTE: Anybody else interested in sharing? Please suggest. There are some lined up for August already. It can also happen on 25th July, we can just make the talks above short and sweet.
We are open to suggestions, so feel free to drop us a note.
