South Orange & Maplewood History Walk & FreeWalkers Party at http://www.ricaltons.com

Meet at12: 30 pm Starbucks at South Orange Train Station, the Midtown Direct Line out of NY Penn Station).

Six-mile walk: (turn by turn directions to be provided).

Explore South Orange/Maplewood; two, turn of the century communities filled with history. We’ll stroll through South Orange Village and onto the Historic Montrose District; walk through the parks up to Ridgewood Road and onto Maplewood via Ridgewood Road where we will pass the Timothy Ball House and the Asher B. Durand home and more dating back to the 1700’s.

As we turn down the street to Maplewood Village we’ll pass the infamous Able Baker (fabulous coffee and more) as well as Arturo’s (but no time to eat) as the walk wraps up back at an Irish Pub named Ricaltons, managed by the previous banquet manager of NJPAC – Chris Keys who looks forward to having us there. - drinks available - pay on your own - some snacks provided by Ricaltons.

This is an approximately 6 mile walk. We will meet back at Ricaltons on or about 3 pm or so. A very doable walk for many who feel that longer walks are challenging. Join us to celebrate another successful FreeWalkers year! If you have friends who prefer not to walk, but meet us at Ricaltons, please invite them as well.

Visit Freewalkers.org for more information on events. We hope to see you there to celebrate another great year!
