Introduction to Electronic Musical Instruments

Interest in analog music synthesizers has grown in recent years. This class will present a short history of synthesizers, followed by explanations and demonstrations of keyboard voltage generation, voltage control of oscillators, filters, amplifiers, and the use of envelope generators.

The sounds of different waveshapes and filter setting will be demonstrated, as well as other modules such as a balanced/ring modulator and wavefolder. There are no musical or electronic prerequisites for this class, so beginners are welcome to attend!
