TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding is a welding process that allows very high quality welds, even on thinner metals. TIG welding is generally viewed as allowing the highest quality welds of all arc welding processes.
One point of difference with the MIG (Metal Inert Gas) process is that, whereas in MIG welding the electrode is wire that is consumed during welding, in TIG welding the electrode is a tungsten electrode that is not consumed to provide weld material.
Freeside's MIG welding classes are a hit, and members and Freeside fans and guests have repeatedly requested similar classes for TIG.
Well, Freeside now has a TIG welder, and a great instructor in Bria!
The class focuses on learning the fundamentals of safety, material prep, and tool use for welding using the TIG process.
In this class, you will learn how to prepare and set up a workpiece, set up and safely run the welder, and successfully join pieces of metal together.
