The Fresco Adventure Group is a group of people in the Washington, DC/Baltimore Metropolitan area that are looking for outdoor fun. Primarily African American adults from the age of 30 and up that enjoy nature and exploring the world. After passing the town of Roundhill and the blinking light at Raven Rocks Rd, make a left turn at route 601.
After crossing rte 7 to rte 601, make an immediate right turn into the parking area.

DC Border Hike - Follow the Historical Markers Along the NW Corners

This is an easy level hike exploring some of the border markers of the District of Columbia. Join us as we continue our journey along the oldest federal monument of the DC boundary markers as we walk along some of the NW sections of the original boundary of the Nation’s Capital.

We will depart from the starting point and walk through the neighborhoods of Virginia (formerly DC). This is a 6-7 mile urban walk along paved footing.

* Comfortable, well-broken-in, sturdy walking shoes or ankle-high boots.
* Protective clothing should include:
- Long comfortable loose fitting pants

- A cotton blend shirt provides for better perspiration and comfort
- Dress in layers for warmth and comfort

Holiday Walk in Harpers Ferry

Harpers Ferry

Holiday Hike in Harpers Ferry. This historic hike is along the Murphy Farm House Trail, Appalachian Trail, and the C&O Canal near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. We’ll hike along these historic paths and through town for the annual Harpers Ferry holiday walk. A visit to the Appalachian Trail headquarters with views of the world’s longest trail is at the end. Learn more about hiking the trail, its history and other nearby outdoor activities. This is an easy level 5-6 mile hike.

Directions:

Take the Washington Beltway to Rte 270 or if coming from Baltimore take rte 70 west towards Frederick

From Maryland Route 270, go north to Route 70 past Frederick, MD.
Take 70 West to US 340 After the flashing light at Valley road continue on rte 340 and go over the Potomac River Continue to the Harpers Ferry Park Entrance.
We will meet at the Harpers Ferry Visitor Visitor's Center

There is a per car parking fee, or FREE if you have a National Park Pass
