This Meetup is past

Join us on Easter morning along the Scots Run Trail in Virginia. This is an easy to moderate level hike for 6 miles with some small inclines. We start in the Scots Run Nature Reserve parking area views along the Potomac River.

Lunch will be served at the end.

This is a rain or shine activity.

* Comfortable, well-broken-in, sturdy walking shoes or ankle-high boots.
* Wear two pairs of socks; first layer is a thin pair that will absorb moisture (liner sock), and the second layer that will add for comfort and keep your foot dry (wool or thicker sock). Bring an extra pair in case you need to refresh
* Protective clothing should include:
- A hat or scarf for sun and bug protection/bike helmets for protection on bike-rides
- Long comfortable loose fitting pants or shorts with knee socks (for warm weather)
- A cotton blend shirt provides for better perspiration and comfort

* Water canteen or bottle filled with water (at least 1 quart, bring what you feel you can carry or need to drink)
* Light snacks such as nuts and fruit are good for energy
* You may want to change up into dryer clothes at the end, so bring an extra T-shirt and pair of socks
* For bike-rides, a hybrid or road bike is needed

Meet in the parking area of the Scots Run Nature Reserve on Old Georgetown Pike in Virginia.

From the beltway, take the exit for Rte 193, Old Georgetown Rd near the VA/MD line just past the American Legion Bridge.

Travel 1 mile on Old Georgetown Pike and turn right into the second parking area (across from Swank Rd).
