Hi! Welcome to Flying Curves Dance Studio’s Meetup page! I’m Christina, and I have been dancing for over a decade. I have studied all different styles of dance including burlesque, jazz, hip hop, and pole. I started this studio because I have a passion for dance, performing, and teaching.
Flying Curves Dance Studio located in Northridge, CA (San Fernando Valley) is focused on empowering women through dance, pole fitness, and burlesque. We are an all-women private studio, offering a no-judgement environment to let go of inhibitions and insecurities and become your best self! We like to think of our classes as a fusion of fitness, life lessons, therapy, and dance with awesome pole tricks as the cherry on top. All ages, sizes, and fitness levels are welcome! · Will I be able to do this if I have never taken a dance, pole class before?
Yes! I work at your level and no you don't need to have strong arm muscles - you will get stronger in class!
· What will happen in class?
Every class will begin with a warm up to get your body ready to learn. This warm up is Pilates and yoga based with lots of stretching and exotic dance moves thrown in. Once we are warm, we will move to the poles. Based on your current level, we will work on learning and perfecting pole tricks and combinations, as well as how to transition smoothly between tricks. Finally, we will put everything we’ve learned together in a choreographed or freestyle dance. Props, themes, and exercises to deeper explore your movement can be expected!

An hour and a half
· What should I wear?
Workout clothes - for example yoga pants or shorts, a sports bra, tee-shirt, or tank top. No shoes are needed for warming up or learning pole tricks. Feel free to bring in any shoes or clothing you’d like to dance in at the end of class!

Learn how to pole dance in a fun and non-intimidating environment. This class is for all ages and any fitness levels. · Liquid Motion
The Liquid Motion® class is an open level class that utilizes elements of fitness conditioning, sensual movement, and dance theory, to provide a total mind and body movement experience. In this 60- minute class, students learn the fundamentals of Liquid Motion® to build a foundation for floor work & wall work. The class is made up of body conditioning, lateral movement drills, intricate floor sequences, exploration of sensual movement, and an understanding of total body awareness.
Are you in need of more cardio? Try our new fusion of Bollly X and Burlesque! This class is a combination of Bollywood inspired dance and burlesque. For the first 30 minutes, let's unleash our inner rockstars while bringing up our heart rates with fun dance moves and music. For the last half hour of class, we will learn a sexy and sassy burlesque routine! You get the best of both worlds!
This is a fun choreography-based class that uses very basic pole tricks and sexy choreography to create easy to learn routines with a bit of hair tossing, booty shaking, hip circling, and other fun transitions. This is a great way to learn more movement and transitions for your own freestyle.
This class will introduce you to the wonderfully seductive and undeniably fun world of floor work. You will learn floor moves and choreography off the pole. As you get comfortable with your natural and instinctual direction, these sultry transitional moves will become great additions to your pole routines. **It is highly recommended to wear knee pads or leg warmers as well as your favorite pair of shoes!
· Beginner Burlesque
Ever wanted to dance like a Pussycat Doll or get your sassy sexiness on? Do you want to feel strong, sexy, and confident? This is for you! This fun and sexy class begins with our signature Burlesque Booty Camp fitness workout followed by easy to follow along choreography for a hot burlesque routine. It caters to all levels, so no previous dance experience is required.
· Goddess Flow
This is a unique class intended for students who are comfortable freestyle dancing. In this class, new and fun topics will be covered from exploration of individual Goddesses (there’s a Goddess in all of us!), tips on bringing her into the outside world, and many more. Work through issues and stresses through individual, freestyle dances. Dress up, let it flow, and leave your worries behind. You will leave this class
