The LiveData Shift

Root Insurance

This month, Kevin Worth, will be here, live, giving us all the data on LiveData! Abstract: LiveData is here to stay, but should you adopt it now or let it simmer and wait? We'll attempt to demonstrate the power in its simplicity and why you should adopt it for your reactive design. While we are here we'll also cover how to avoid some common gotchas experienced by those who came before you but failed to fully embrace LiveData's paradigms. After all, you gotta do something with all that data, so don't just react to it - nix the big learning curve and bring it to life. Speaker Bio: Kevin Worth comes with 11 years of experience in software development. He currently works at JP Morgan Chase as an Android developer on the Chase mobile app. Before coming to Columbus, Kevin began his career in the DC metro area working on government contract projects including a multi year project for Veteran Affairs. He earned a BS in computer science from George Mason University. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, rock climbing, and talking about awesome apps he would make if only he had time. Extra Venue Notes: Root is located at 80 E Rich St. (floor 4). If you park in the garage across the street (55 E Rich St.), Root can validate your parking for you. You can walk across the sky bridge on the 2nd floor of the garage or enter Root's building from the ground entrance off Rich St. The elevator on the left labeled "Work" will allow you to go up to floor 4. Once on the 4th floor, a Root representative will be there to guide you to where the meet-up is taking place.
