Roll to Rodeo Beach With the Gals - C Level

Hey Gals! Please join us for a new ride from Harry Bridges Plaza/SF Ferry Building to across the GG Bridge to Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands.

Arrive by 9:45 for a 10:00 am roll.

Start/End: Harry Bridges Plaza / SF Ferry Building -- In the Embarcadero in front of the Ferry Building.

This is a Level C ride -- Distance: ~24 miles. Elevation: ~1,100 feet. Gusty winds possible.

We will follow the Embarcadero to Crissy Field, up and over the Golden Gate Bridge. Then ride up Conzelman Road, turn right on to McCullough Road at the traffic circle and descend to Bunker Road, follow Bunker Road toward the ocean all the way to Rodeo Beach, past the Rodeo Lagoon, Ft. Cronkite, and the Marine Mammal Center.

We will stop at the beach to take a break. Bring a snack and water. No permanent food options, but restrooms are available. The beach is gravelly with pounding surf and it's often windy -- we will see shorebirds and wildlife on the steep surrounding hills. It's a beautiful spot!

We'll return along Bunker Road, through the tunnel to Alexander Road and the Golden Gate Bridge and return the same route along Crissy Field back to the Ferry Building to end the ride.

We’ll show you a route, provide tips for riding in the city, and have a relaxing ride.

• We ride at a relaxed pace and won't leave anyone behind.

• RSVP required. Helmet and basic riding skills required.

• Not had your bicycle out in a very long while? Please have it checked over by a bike mechanic to be sure it is safe and reliable.

• The route is on multi-use paths, roads with or without a bike lane.

• Rain cancels. We will send a message via Meetup if we cancel to those who RSVP for this ride.

• Bring your questions -- Anything you want to know about biking? No question is too basic -- probably other Gals will have the same question!
