March with Atheists in the Covina Christmas Parade!
Corner of Badillo and Barranca, 519 E Badillo, Covina, CA, USJoin Atheists United as we march in the City of Covina’s Annual Christmas Parade!
Why? Because we want people to know…
- Atheists are not alone this time of year
- Atheists participate in our communities in wholesome, positive ways
- Atheists are resilient against intimidation and bullying!
We have done this in prior years and had a blast! Lets make this our biggest group yet!
The only way to overcome stigma against atheists is to consistently be out and proud in our local communities… and show people they have nothing to worry about!
WHEN & WHERE:
- Sat. Dec. 6th — Meet at 5:15 PM (Group Check-in at 5:30 PM)
- Meet at Corner of Badillo St and Barranca Ave (We're entry #272 and will have signs)
- Parade starts at 6:30 PM (Arrive early — Roads close for the parade by 4:30 PM)
CAR DECORATING & PEOPLE DECORATING:
- Want to help decorate our parade van?
- Meet at 4 PM in the COVINA CITY HALL parking lot
- All participants are encouraged to wear the most festive outfits you can find
PARTICIPATION:
- All participants must sign a waiver to participate (we'll have them in person)
- Drop-ins welcome, but RSVP ahead so we can look out for you and plan ahead!
JUDGING:
- The parade’s theme this year is “The Treasures of Christmas.” They’ll be judging us on that, so if you want to participate in the theme bring a sign or wear an outfit that shows off what you treasure… whatever that means to you! (Nobody’s allowed to be Santa.) Our team name is the Solstice Sugar Saints.
- They’ll also be judging us based on our decorations, enthusiasm, and crowd appeal. So let’s bring it!
AFTERPARTY
- All attendees are welcome to join us for backyard smores at a local members house post-parade!

Picnic in the Park (South Pasadena)
Garfield Park, 1000 Park Avenue, South Pasadena, CA, USJoin us for a family-friendly community picnic in beautiful Garfield Park in South Pasadena.
Bring a meal, a snack, or whatever else makes you happy. We’ll provide a casual, pressure-free space to hang out with other atheists so you can enjoy a secular Sunday morning.
Sometimes we’re on the grass and we recommend you bring a blanket or lawn chair.
The park is dog-friendly, kid-friendly (playground!) and has bathrooms.
Look for the Atheists United signage (and the gaggle of happy heathens) by the picnic tables near the playground. Our exact location in the park will vary depending on table availability.
Can’t wait to see you there!
