This is a Advance Hiking Trip. You will need full Winter Backpacking gear for this trip. Make sure you can hike for 10 miles in the snow with a full backpack. If you don't know what you need to bring for a trip like this you really should not go!

This will be a 3 day Backpacking Trip

We will leave The Park & Ride at 7:30 and drive for about 4 hours to Carvers Gap (Roan N.C.) I plan to start at the gardens ( Roan High Buff) just south of Carver's Gap. There is a good parking spots here. we will finish up at US 19 We will cover some of the most incredible scenery in the southeast.

This hike will be around 16 miles and is a Class D5 Hike !!

Day 1:Start at Carvers Gap and hike about 8 miles to Overmountain Shelter. This will allow us to take plenty of pictures along the way. Trust me when I say have you batteries charged and camera ready.

Day 2: Get up and enjoy one of the most amazing sun rises, take our time and hike about 5 miles to Doll flats. There is no Shelter here but it is a great place to camp ( lots of trees  you know what I mean)

Day3: Hike the last 4 miles to US 19. grab some good hot food after 2 full day on the trail. Pick up the rest of the cars and head back to Atlanta

This is a Advance Hiking Trip. You will need full Backpacking gear for this trip. Please do not sign up if you cannot hike for 10 miles with a full backpack. If you don't know what you need to bring for a trip like this you really should not go!
