Group co-organizer Brian Timoney teams up with cartographer/author Gretchen Peterson (the Cartographer's Toolkit (http://www.amazon.com/Cartographers-Toolkit-Colors-Typography-Patterns/dp/0615467946/)) for a fun fast-paced tour through the wild world of maps-on-the-web. Brian will start the evening with a review of maps published by respected organizations that ignore some basics of dataviz grammar--occasionally with spectacular, unintended results. The night will pivot in a more constructive, positive direction as Gretchen lays out some specific rules-of-thumb to ensure your internet cartography is a paragon of clear, crisp visual communication.
