Intro to App Building with Salesforce - DENVER
Interested in an in-demand career with salaries up to six-figures? The job market for Salesforce professionals is growing, with over 300,000 job openings for Salesforce skills created last year*. In this class, you'll get a crash course in building simple employee-facing business apps that run on both a web browser and a mobile device - without writing any code! This is not a sales pitch. I’m a Salesforce professional, and I’m passionate about bringing diversity to the tech sector and helping women learn about powerful career options. Whether you’re familiar with Salesforce from your work experience or are just looking for a career in a hot field, join us to learn about app-building on Salesforce. What this class will cover: • What is Salesforce and what are the career opportunities for Salesforce Admins and Developers? • App-building concepts including data modeling, user interfaces, business logic, reports, dashboards, and mobile. • Hands-on and guided project building to build a sample app in one day. • Introduction to Trailhead (https://developer.salesforce.com/trailhead/), a fun online learning platform for Salesforce. • Resources for connecting with the Salesforce community (https://success.salesforce.com/). The tools for learning to develop with Salesforce are free: • Trailhead (https://developer.salesforce.com/trailhead/), the fun free way to learn Salesforce • Salesforce Mobile App (AppStore and Google Play) Breaks and time for lunch will be provided. PREREQUISITES: Students should be fairly familiar with using web and mobile applications and Googling for answers to all of life’s questions. You do not need any prior Salesforce experience. TECH REQUIREMENTS: Please bring a laptop, not an iPad/tablet. The visual development tools only run on a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari 9.x and 10.x on Mac OS X, Internet Explorer 11). ABOUT THE TEACHER Becca Morgan has worked in the healthcare industry where she was a solo admin for a variety of Salesforce applications. Now she gets to be a developer for a different kind of healthcare at Watson Health. She calls herself an efficiency lunatic and is always looking for ways to optimize actions done in repetition. Salesforce can be the efficiency fiends best friend if you let it. QUESTIONS? We're here to help! If you have additional questions or would like to talk further before signing up for an event, please contact us at [masked] WHY CHARGE? We charge a fair registration fee for workshops/classes for a few reasons. A portion of the fee goes to the instructor to thank them for volunteering their time. The rest of the fee goes back to the community to pay for scholarship and food/drink for this and future events. What we're about

Want to learn how to code? Have a great idea? Don't be shy. Develop it.

At Girl Develop It, our goal is to empower and assist women interested in getting into and advancing in the tech industry.

Our courses will focus on teaching modern development best practices and having something to show for it (ie. a sweet website, a native mobile app, a browser based game, a network of industry experts, or even a stellar résumé).

Thanks stopping by!
