JavaScript is the language of interactivity on the web. If you want to create something that just about everybody on the planet can see and use, JavaScript is your programming language. You probably encountered JavaScript when you were browsing the web. Have you Ever used Google Maps? Seen a slideshow of images? Then you've used JavaScript!

Join us on Saturday, June 6 from 9am - 5pm and begin learning to develop interactive websites. We will be covering basic JavaScript and jQuery, as well as dynamic HTML, JSON and web APIs. (If you don't know what any of those acronyms mean, don't worry... this is the class for you!)

The course will be taught by Steve Kinney, an instructor at the Turing School of Software and Design (http://turing.io).

LOCATION:
Turing School of Software & Design :: 1510 Blake St, Denver, CO

PARKING:
There are various paid parking options in the area for anywhere between $8 - $15 per day.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Your laptop and charger.
• Wifi & power strips will be provided
• If you do not already have Google Chrome or Firefox, install it before class.
• We will be using Sublime Text 2 ( http://www.sublimetext.com/2 ) in class.

PREREQUISITES:
To complete this course you'll need to know:
• The structure of an html page: html, head, & body elements.
• The basic syntax of html: elements, attributes, how to nest elements
• How to give an element an id or a class - css selectors: how to select elements by id or by class

REFUNDS: NO refunds. If you can no longer attend the class you signed up and paid for, your payment will be donated to the local chapter scholarship fund. You can help another woman in need! You are always welcome to apply for a scholarship yourself in the future.
