Details

Do you have some experience with HTML/CSS and JavaScript and want to take your UI skills one step further?

In this class we are going to learn how to build websites with React.js, a JavaScript library developed by facebook.

By the end of the class, each participant will have a search-based app that fetches data and live filters the data based on search terms. You will have a solid foundation in React and will be able to build your own React projects.

Examples on companies/websites using React: https://github.com/facebook/react/wiki/Sites-Using-React

React provides a structure and a pattern, all logic is regular JavaScript. This means that there are only a few core React concepts we need to learn before we can start coding some pretty elaborate UI's. React is A LOT of fun to use and if you are asking yourself if this is for you, the answer is yes.

You will get a thorough introduction to React.js. We are going to cover some of the core concepts of React and the majority of our time together will be spent on coding.

If you do not have experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript but still want to attend, we recommend completing the following two tracks on Codecademy:
