Intro to Designing User Experiences

Details

Want to design your application in a way that’ll make sense to your users? Not only that, how about if it delights, wows, and keeps your users coming back for more? After all, you want to make sure youhttp://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/1/9/5/c/event_223686492.jpeg’re building something people will actually want to use, right?

This will be a highly interactive and collaborative workshop covering User Experience Design. UX Design is prominent in the creation of any product, including websites and mobile applications. You’ll be introduced to the principles and process of UX Design. This workshop will include brainstorming sessions, group projects, design prototyping, visual design trends, and user testing. You'll work on developing a product right from the outset through several deliverables to a final design.

We’ll start at 10 am, have lunch at around 1 pm, and wrap up at 6 pm. (Lunch is included). There are no prerequisites for this workshop, and a computer is not necessary. Come with an open mind, and we'll teach you what you need to know to get started with UX Design!

This workshop will be taught by Gwen Brinsmead, a UI/UX designer at Appcelerator, and Sheba Najmi, a former Design Lead for Yahoo! Mail and an IxDA Award winning Code for America 2012 Fellow.

If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHRPTms0blNlTlo3cUpySFJENzBEdWc6MQ).

Please note that we cannot issue refunds, since there's an overhead to issuing refunds via Meetup.com and we already offer the workshops at such a low-cost. We put proceeds into the chapter fund, which we use as our scholarship fund.
