YOUR PROFILE : In order to join the Bay Area Social (BAS 40+) group we require that you have a recognizable photo of yourself as your profile picture. It makes it easier to recognize you when you attend our events. (A recognizable photo of yourself means: Your face is clearly shown, no group shots, no pets. Failure to maintain your photo will lead to your removal.)
AGE RANGE: Bay Area Social 40+ (BAS 40+) is made up of members whose age ranges from their 30s to late 60s.
RSVP / ATTENDANCE - POLICY:
Our events occasionally will have limited space. Unfortunately this means that not everyone can attend. If you sign up for an event and find that you can no longer go, please update your RSVP. This helps out your fellow members by letting them move up off the waitlist.
Please note: If you attend an event without signing up, it's considered "crashing" and will get you removed from the group.
Finally, Our organizers put a lot of their time and effort to host these events, show them the courtesy of showing up if you have signed up. Members that have a repeating pattern of being a "no show” will be removed from the group.

People who come to our events are friendly and usually everyone who comes makes new friends inside and outside our group.
You need to post an actual photo of yourself showing your face, including your eyes. Failure to post a photo of yourself will result in a declining of your membership into our group.
We STRONGLY encourage you, if you have to, to cancel your reservation on Meetup 48 hours prior to the event.
Northern California Golf Club
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA GOLF CLUB
We are a social golf meetup group, which offers its members an option to join our very own NCGA Associate Club by the same name: Northern California Golf Club. To register, here is the link:
If you click on the above link, you'll see a green "Join This Club" button with a yellow star on it.
You are welcome to join us if you are an Intermediate+ golfer. Here are some expectations:
- Familiarity with basic rules of golf and golf etiquette, particularly the practice of honoring a good pace of play;
- Respect for the game and our members;
- Adherence to our policies, including showing up for events on time or earlier if requested.
Whether you participate in our golf outings or our non-golf social events, you are responsible for any damages or injuries you cause to property or other persons. You are participating at NCGC events at your own risk, and neither the Organizer nor the Event Organizers will be liable for damages or injuries caused by any of our members during our meetups or travel to and from our meetups. NCGC is also not liable for any injuries inflicted upon it members or damages done to members' properties or loss of properties (including golf equipment, transportation, etc.) during events and travel to and from our meetups.
Also, unless you are already a member of our Beginners group, you must use your real name or initials and a recent photo of yourself when signing up. If you are not comfortable with this policy or any of our other policies, this is not the group for you.
OUR GOALS AND ACTIVITIES
Let’s play our part in promoting and practicing the industry’s goal of finishing a round in about 4.5 hours.
For over two years, we have been providing exceptional golf experience to players of all ages, and our group keeps getting better and better. We will continue to play 18-hole courses all over the Bay Area and sometimes beyond.
We oftentimes hang out after the round for a meal or a drink. This is optional, so don't feel obligated to stick around if your plans do not permit it.
We are also open to suggestions for playing various courses in the Bay Area. If there is a course you would like to play, let one of the Event Organizers know and we will look to getting it on the calendar.
Annual NON-REFUNDABLE fee: $11.36.
If a member is removed from our group, this fee will not be refunded.
ATTENDANCE and RSVPs
Our attendance policy is strict. This is a requirement as we reserve tee times up to two weeks in advance, and we are required to fill those tee times. Golf courses do not like last minute cancellations as they make their money by having full foursomes.
When you receive notifications of scheduled meetups, it is not necessary to reply "No" if you are not attending an event. You have the option to click on "Yes" or "No," but you don't have to; you can simply delete the email without replying. Of course, if you RSVP "Yes" then your plans change, you must update your RSVP to "No."
Do not sign up for a meetup if there's a chance that you might have to cancel at the last minute. It's better for you to sign up at the last minute than to cancel at the last minute.
* Although one no-show may result in the removal from our group, the first no-show may only be given a warning, depending on the circumstances.
* Last-minute cancellations are frowned upon. A last-minute cancel is if you cancel your RSVP after the RSVP deadline or after an Event Organizer has posted the group assignments, which might be a day or two before the RSVP deadline.
* A combination of a no-show and last-minute cancellation will also result in the removal from our group.
* Last-minute cancellations will be accepted from our "regular" members who have a good attendance record—until it starts to become a habit.
Thank you for observing and respecting our policies. We work hard to ensure that our members always have a great experience on the golf course.
Welcome to the Northern California Golf Club. We look forward to your upcoming participation.

Bay Area Women's Midweek Hiking Group
We are a group of women who enjoy challenging weekday hikes in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is not a group for beginners. Some of us are retired or with kids off to college, some are stay at home moms with school-age kids, others have flexible work schedules or are in between jobs. Some are international visitors/visa holders/green card holders or dual citizenships. Regardless, we all have time during weekdays when the trails are empty and parking is a breeze!
We mainly focus on peninsula, south bay, east bay, and coastal trails, but also plan excursions to Mt. Tam, Marin Headlands, and San Francisco urban hikes. Most hikes are 6-10 miles and moderate to strenuous with significant elevation gain of 1000-2000 feet elevation. Sometimes we do exploratory hikes and some hikes can include some scrambles - please be sure to read the entire hike description so you know what you are signing up for in advance. In order to keep to the planned schedule and keep the group moving, anyone unable to keep up will need to feel comfortable navigating their way back on their own.
All members can schedule a hike or suggest a hike, and are encouraged to do so through the meetup app! Let me know if you have questions on how to do this.
We throw in many dog-friendly hikes too! You can also join our Facebook page, where we post interesting articles, photos, and ideas for our next new trail.
We enjoy each others company and believe that friendly conversation is as much part of a good hike as the beautiful views! If this sounds good, please come join us- we would love to meet you!
•Can I bring my baby or toddler? Although we love kids, our hikes are not suitable for young children
• Can I bring my dog? Sometimes! I will specify which hikes are dog friendly. If you are bringing a new dog, just tell us a little about him/her in the comment section
Please note that for safety reasons, we have a 3 hiker minimum requirement. Unless we have at least 3 hikers confirmed 2 hours before the start of the hike, the hike will be cancelled. Thanks for your understanding!
South Bay Indoor / Outdoor Activities Group (SBIO)

Everyone strives to be friendly and welcoming at our events, so you'll have a lot of fun when you come out for an activity. See you out there!
With your RSVP, please make every effort to make it. Last minute cancellations and no-shows are not permitted. We ask you do make every effort to make events as we want our events to be as fun and attending as possible!

Data and Analytics Palo Alto
Palo Alto, CA
Every business faces decisions that are powered, or held hostage, by data and analytics. Siloed data, lack of trust, misalignment to outcomes, a focus on data for its own sake and an assumption that a technology acquisition will be sufficient can be colossal challenges to overcome because there is no quick fix.
This group will be focused on exploring topics across the D&A spectrum.
Mountain View WereWolves and other board games
Mountain View, CA
This group started as a werewolves group, many of the group members love other board games so now it's a board games group with werewolves being the main game.
Events are usually at a park so you can consider it a board games picnic ;)

South Bay Art
San Jose, CA
This group is for anyone who is interested in creating and sharing art. All mediums such as charcoal, water color, oil paint, etc. are welcome. All skill levels are welcome as well.
For our group's events, you'll find a mix of outdoor painting and indoor sketching and the locations vary from as far North as San Francisco to as far South as Monterey.
Recently we've been posting and guest posting more indoor meetups as a result of the popularity of the portrait parties and sketching, but you'll still find a couple outdoor painting events a month as well.
I should say that the events aren't classes or workshops in that I consider the group more of a social group who's members enjoy creating and sharing art with other artists. If you've got questions, are looking for a critique, or are stuck on something feel free to ask for help though. We really do have a nice mix of experienced artists.
Also, there are no fees for the group or events but sometimes there is a cost for things like parking or if we have events in coffee shops or restaurants we're usually expected to purchase something. I'll do my best to call out any fees in the event description as they come up.
If you have any questions or suggestions related to the meetup feel free to direct message me via Meetup.com's message service.
Looking forward to seeing you all and your art.

Explore The Bay (ETB) - Social Group
Mountain View, CA
Meet some new friends while we Explore the Bay together. This group is about providing value to the community, having fun, exploring new places, and meeting new friends. We are a social group of singles and couples who enjoy exploring the wonderful Bay Area of Northern California. In fact, according to the Meetup.com algorithm, we are the most active "Social" group in the Bay Area (pre-pandemic). Join us as we explore cool bars, night clubs, restaurants, museums, vineyards, hiking adventures, house parties, etc. We will also offer some community volunteer opportunities. We will LEVERAGE our group to receive discounts, extended happy hours, and other great perks that an individual cannot get. Note that we move the party all around the Bay Area to keep our events interesting and to continually attract new quality citizens. Join and you will meet some quality, new friends.
WHO CAN JOIN
Adults 21 and over. Our members range in age from 21 to 80+. Single people and people in relationships are in this group. This is not a singles group. If you don't feel comfortable about being around people from different age groups, then you either are just trying to hook up or you haven't grown up yet. Note that we don't and won't tolerate any discrimination with respect to race, religion, age, sex, or gender.
REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN THE GROUP
Personal photo required where the person is recognizable. Action shots, group photos, and topless pics are not permitted. Must be an adult age 21 and over. Members who are admitted must read these rules including the disclaimer at the end which states members are forfeiting certain rights.
EXPECTED MEMBER CONDUCT
1. Members are expected to read the event description and any updates posted by the Event Organizer before attending an event. This helps eliminate the need to ask questions that have already been explicitly stated in the event description. It also keeps expectations in alignment with the event format/structure.
2. In order to receive important emails sent from Event Organizers, make sure that you have the following setting options enabled for this group: ‘Announcement about a specific Meetup’ and ‘Announcement to members about the group’.
3. When interested in attending an event, each member will need to secure a spot online. Note that if they later decide that they want to bring a guest to an event that they already signed up for that is full, they will either need to lose their spot and go to the end of the waiting list or they will need to encourage their guest to join the group and add their name to the waiting list. Please do not contact the event organizer and ask to add a guest. This creates too much work.
4. Note that we sometimes remove inactive members from the group, especially organizers from other groups that don't attend events. We encourage active membership.
GROUNDS FOR REMOVAL FROM THE GROUP
1. Any behavior that causes a problem for other members of the group. Not limited, but including the following: being touchy, overly aggressive, creepy, excessive gossiping or any behavior that causes bad drama.
2. Excessive no shows in relation to the number of events attended. Note that we take attendance at most events except music in the park events. Members are responsible to monitor their own registration status. When you are on a waiting list, don't assume that you won't get into an event. If a member makes other plans, they are responsible to change their registration from either the attending list or waiting list to the not attending list.
3. Repeatedly bailing out of events on the day the event is scheduled. A high frequency of this behavior can lead to being removed from the group. Note that if you bail out the same day of an event, you will be marked as a "no show".
4. Sending emails to members they have not met before for the purposes of dating. This isn't a dating website.
5. Sending spam emails to members to promote a business, event, etc. without permission of the main organizer.
6. Freeloaders who take advantage of the generosity of others are removed from the group. This includes attending an event at a venue and not purchasing anything. Note that venues staff up to support our events. If the revenue isn't high, then they lose money and then organizers have to volunteer more time to find a new venue.
7. Posting comments on an event page or using the "Start a conversation..." functionality to promote a business, event, etc. without permission of the main organizer.
8. Not having a picture where they are recognizable. Members who are not recognizable in their ETB profile picture are subject to removal.
9. Any behaving in a manner that suggests a sense of entitlement such as requesting organizers to volunteer too much of their valuable time.
10. Excessive posting of comments or negative comments on event wall-space. This requires the Event Host to volunteer additional time. It also causes members to waste time looking for important event updates. Note that there is no need for members to post why they will not be attending an event.
11. Texting or calling the Organizer for any reason other than trying to find the group during a meetup event. Note that the number is provided as a courtesy to facilitate finding the group only. No exceptions.
12. Showing up to an event without securing a spot (crashing). Members are not allowed to bring other members as guests so that we can distinguish between crashers and valid registrations. Note that members are not allowed to bring a guest to an event unless they secure a spot online for their guest. Some events are limited to members only.
13. Bringing children or pets to an event unless the event explicitly states that they are permitted.
14. Any members that copy the content of this group including the charter of the group (on this page), event descriptions, event updates, our events, etc. for the benefit of organizing events with other groups will be removed from the group. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
