What we’re about

Welcome to Bay Area Hiking, Walking, Wellness Club!
Where Healthy Living Meets Lifelong Friendships and Love!

Our club is all about embracing a healthy lifestyle, nurturing a positive mindset, and reveling in the beauty of nature. If you're someone who enjoys Green Exercise outdoor workouts, and can hike/walk 5-8 miles without health issues (do consult your personal physician), we invite you to join us.

Here's what makes us special:
*Transformative Events: Our club events bring people together, fostering new friendships and even sparking love stories. The benefits are profound, including better health, reduced stress, and the end of isolation.

*Safety First: Your well-being is our top priority. We strictly follow CDC guidelines and protocols. If you're feeling unwell, we kindly ask you to wait until you're better to join us.
For everyone's safety and convenience, we encourage carpooling among those who know each other well.

*Stunning Locations: We're fortunate living in the bay areaĀ to have shaded forests, mountain trails, and beach walks with amazing ocean sunsets nearby. Your suggestions for new areas to explore are always welcome.

*Convenient Scheduling: Enjoy our thoughtfully scheduled events, mostly in the late morning, afternoon, and evenings, to fit your personal schedule. Allowing you to get your beauty sleep, and even your morning 'errands' are merely a stylish sprint to fetch that perfect breakfast or cup of coffee.

*Inclusivity: Whether you're reuniting with old friends or looking to meet new people while exercising outdoors, you'll find a warm and welcoming community here.

**How does nature nurture the brain? **After a 60-minute walk in nature, activity in brain regions involved in stress processing decreases...

Mental health prescription: Nature
Being in nature can boost your mood and improve mental health. Spending quality time in the great outdoors reduces stress, calms anxiety, and can lead to a lower risk of depression, according to a study done by researchers at Stanford University. In addition to having mental health benefits, being outdoors opens up your senses to your surroundings and improves your sensory perception. Taking in the sights, smells, and feelings of nature has so many health benefits it can even be prescribed by a doctor.

Our Club events have a very positive impact on people's lives, people meet, fall in lovešŸ’˜ meet new friends, HAPPY, better health, less stress, anxiety, depression, isolate being alone and got extra bonus for LOVE ā€‹šŸ’ž

*Note: We appreciate your support to keep our club thriving. Your donation/contribution helps cover our costs and enhance our meetups.

A small event fee helps cover organizing costs, including planning, permits, and many other expenses that go into making these events happen. A lot of time and effort goes into researching trails, securing permits, and managing unexpected challenges. Your support helps keep these adventures going—thank you for being part of the journey!

*When you attend our group events, implied consent is assumed for photography. If you prefer not to be photographed, please feel free to let people know.

Join us and be part of a community that not only promotes wellness but also nurtures lifelong friendships and, in some cases, love stories. We look forward to meeting you and making lasting memories together!

🌿 A Friendly Reminder from Your Host 🌿
Hi Everyone!
Just a quick note as we continue enjoying hikes, nature, and meals together as a community. These events are organized voluntarily, with a lot of care and heart — and I'm truly happy to see so many of you return and bring great energy to the group!

šŸ’”Please remember: Participation is completely voluntary.

🄾Trails are part of Mother Nature — sometimes rocky, sometimes windy, always full of surprises. 😊

šŸ²šŸœDinner spots are chosen for convenience and availability. Everyone’s taste is different, so please come with an open mind.

šŸ“µPhone service can be unreliable at trailheads, so double-check directions and arrive early if possible.

✨ I kindly ask everyone to bring a positive attitude, patience, and flexibility. Not everything will go perfectly — and that’s okay. What matters most is the shared experience, wellness, fresh air, and kindness to one another.

Thank you for being here and helping create a warm, kind and respectful community🌷
Let’s continue building a respectful and positive space for all 🌿

Yours in good health,

Hello Nature Lovers, Let's meet new friends, go for Green Exercises a Wellness Hike, enjoy the nature and the beauty of the healing mountains and redwood trees forests for our physical health and mental well-beingšŸ˜‡

    A Gen Inside Henry Cowell
Fall Creek, the northern unit of Henry Cowell Redwoods State park, is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains west of the town of Felton. The park has 2,390 acres–nearly the entire watershed of Fall Creek–and about 20 miles of hiking trails. Most of these trails follow old wagon and logging roads that once led to busy industrial sites.

Fall Creek is a place of peace and quiet for those who visit and a place of refuge for the animals and plants that live there. Please help protect and preserve the park’s rich history, plants, animals, and valuable watershed.

In the early 1950s, Samuel ā€œHarryā€ Cowell proposed combining his family-owned property with an adjacent county-owned park to create a single park. Named after his father, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park was established in 1954.

The Fall Creek Unit was later deeded to the state in 1972 by the Cowell family’s foundation. The park contains nearly the entire Fall Creek watershed, extending southeast from Ben Lomond Mountain. Portions of the park were damaged by the CZU Fire in 2020 and closed, but trails were rebuilt and the park fully reopened in spring of 2022.

    šŸ’šGreen Exercise🌊Easy Hike🄾see Monarch ButterflyšŸ¦‹ Magic Natural BridgesšŸžļø

Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, 701 W Cliff Dr, Santa Cruz, CA, US

Hello Ocean Lovers, Let's meet up, go for a wellness Walking/Hiking at the Santa Cruz Lighthouse to Natural Bridges Beach, enjoy fresh ocean air, the Beautiful Sunset and Healing Sea for our physical health and Mental Well-beingšŸ˜‡

Monarch Butterfly Magic at Natural Bridges
In Santa Cruz, we like to celebrate all creatures great and small, especially those of the migrating variety. On one end, we are captivated by the sight of a whale surfacing from the depths of the sea and, on the other, we delight in the spellbinding magic of a fluttering monarch butterfly.

Every fall and winter, Natural Bridges State Beach welcomes back the monarchs to their winter habitat in the eucalyptus grove, the only State Monarch Preserve in California. Starting in early to mid-October, the black and orange beauties start trickling in from colder climates to enjoy our moderate coastal weather. Scientifically speaking, monarchs are tropical butterflies and at no point in their life cycle – egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly – can they freeze, so they move with the warmer weather while migrating south.

The monarch butterfly is just one of several Santa Cruz migratory wildlife mascots. Be sure to experience their magic this fall and early winter at Natural Bridges State Beach. And BIG BONUS: Natural Bridges State Beach has a few additional mascot favorites in the eucalyptus trees! Horned owls have been nesting and calling the Natural Bridges’ eucalyptus grove home for several years, and sightings have been high this season! If you are looking to spot the horned owls, check with a Natural Bridges interpreter or docent and they can help direct where you might find them.

The largest wintering colonies of monarchs are found in Mexico, but smaller colonies can be seen across the western coast of California through the winter months (mid-October through mid-February).

Explore this out-and-back trail near Santa Cruz, California. Generally considered an easy route. This is a very popular area for birding, road biking, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.

Santa Cruz Lighthouse was home to a busy port in the mid-1800s, with ships dropping anchor in the harbor to take on loads of redwood...

In about a mile, just off Point Santa Cruz, you will pass Steamer Lane, a famous surf spot for year-round competitions. On the other side of the point you can watch sea lions bask in the sun and see waves crashing for miles up the coastline. The path ends in another mile at Natural Bridges State Park.

Natural Bridges State Beach is a 65-acre California state park in Santa Cruz, CA. The park features a natural bridge across a section of the beach. It is also well known as a hotspot to see monarch butterfly migrations.

šŸ’šGreen Exercise! Let's go 5 miles Wellness Hike🄾 at Quarry ParkšŸžļø

Saratoga Quarry Park, 22000 Congress Springs Rd, Saratoga, CA, US

Hello Nature Enthusiasts! Ready to lace up those hiking boots and tackle the great outdoors? Let’s soak up the beauty of nature, make new friends, and give our physical and mental health the TLC it deserves. After all, who needs a gym when you’ve got mountain therapy? šŸŒ²šŸ˜‡

Want to get away? There's no need to take a flight to some far-off destination. Just jump in a car and head west on Highway 9 to Saratoga Quarry Park, 22000 Congress Springs Road. Located just 2 miles from downtown Saratoga, the tranquil and picturesque 64-acre property is a natural haven from the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley.

Saratoga Quarry Park is a portal to the past and a gateway to the Santa Cruz Mountains, as well as a place to explore, play, and learn.

History: There were two active quarries on the site in the early 1900s. Both were converted from lime quarries into one gravel quarry after the purchase of the properties in 1908. In 1921, Santa Clara County bought the property and operated it as a rock and gravel quarry, which supplied the material for the county's roads. The County closed the quarry in 1967.

Following the 1967 closure, County employees used the site for recreational activities with their families and friends, with no public access. On their own time, they installed and maintained picnic tables, barbecue pits, and sitting areas. The site was used for parties, including an occasional wedding, until the late 1990s.

The City of Saratoga acquired the property in 2011 with a conservation easement and joint funding from the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department. The easement assures that the property will be retained as a natural scenic and open space area by restricting the property's use.

On October 31, 2015 the City of Saratoga unveiled the 64-acre Saratoga Quarry Park to the public. Guests are able to hike into history as the park still shows remnants of its past as an operating quarry back in 1900s.
