React.js is a popular Front End framework. Companies like Facebook, Netflix, Flipboard, and Khan Academy are using it to power blazing-fast web apps that make interacting with users faster than ever before.
This full-day workshop will introduce you to the basic concepts you need to understand to work with React.js.
You'll learn:
• Why Use React?
• Thinking in Components
• One-Way Data Flow
• The Virtual DOM
• Props & State
This workshop is taught by Esther Weon, Front-End Developer at Presence Product Group, and Ken Urata, Front-End Developer at Crunchyroll.
Pre-course requirements:
• Basic familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Have your own personal laptop to use for the class.
• Git (https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Getting-Started-Installing-Git), node.js (https://nodejs.org/dist/v4.4.1/node-v4.4.1.pkg), and a text editor (like Sublime Text (http://www.sublimetext.com/2)) installed on your laptop
There will be a one-hour break at noon. Lunch is provided.
