About us
We are a charitable not-for-profit with the goal to get GEEQs (that’s geeks with EQ) into IT and to keep them there!
GEEQ and its events are inclusive and open to everyone - but the main focus and goal are to empower all women who wish to commence or further their careers in IT.
GEEQ organises a range of virtual and in-person networking events including Speed Hiring, Fireside Chat, Book Club as well as special events like the annual all-women hackathon where in 2019 over 120 participants got together to solve real-world problems.

Chatswood Hackathon: AI for Real-World Impact

Join us for the Chatswood Hackathon, a one-day, in-person hackathon where you’ll team up with other ambitious builders to solve real challenges facing our local community.
In partnership with Willoughby City Council, this is your chance to create solutions that could genuinely shape the future of Chatswood.
💡 What You’ll Be Doing
Over the course of the day, you’ll:
- Learn from a hands-on AI workshop to kick things off
- Team up with other members of the GEEQ community (or bring your own team)
- Build a rapid prototype tackling real-world problems
- Pitch your solution to a panel of judges and community leaders
No fluff. No fake problems. Just real impact.
