  • This group discusses features of various digital cameras, and also takes field trips to practice using their cameras. Classroom work involves transferring images to computers, editing, etc.

Digital Camera SIG is for photographers who have a basic knowledge of photography and want to use the advanced features of their camera and Photoshop and other software.

This  SIG meets third Wednesday of each month at 1:30 P.M in the GGCS Classroom.

    NOV 20, 2016

Mary Macey Butler, a Photographer Extraordinaire.

    ‘Motion and Multiple Exposure’

Mary Macey Butler, a popular and talented member of the Marin Photo Club, has been involved in photography for over 35 years.  She first joined MPC in 1990.  She received a Foto-Clave’s Founders Award among other awards and served as Judge Chair for MPC from 2012-2016.

In 2012, Mary was “Marin Exhibitor of the Year” at the Marin County Fair and over the years, she has had a number of Solo Exhibitions and participated in many Group Exhibitions.

This presentation will go over techniques for creating in-camera images using ‘Motion’ and ‘Multiple Exposure’.  It will cover the basics – what makes a good subject, what speed do I use, what kind of camera movement, how many images for a multiple exposure etc.

For those whose cameras don’t automatically combine multiple exposures in-camera, information will be provided for doing this in Photoshop.

Directions to Classroom in San Rafael: 1510 Fifth Avenue and walk through the black gate and down the alley on the left of the First Presbyterian Church or go to 1505 Mission Avenue and walk down three outside steps on the right of the buildings to the classroom.
