The Greater New Haven Writers' Group is a well established writing group made up of committed writers (published and unpublished) from a wide variety of backgrounds. Members also work in every possible genre except poetry (including literary fiction, crime and thriller, sci-fi, narrative nonfiction and memoir, even stage- and screenplay). Meetings focus on providing constructive criticisms of each other's work, offering support, and discussing the publishing process. We meet every other Wednesday evening in New Haven (specific locations are accessible only to members). New or revised writings are distributed in advance and carefully critiqued by all members in writing and in person at meetings.
If you would like to be considered as a new member, feel free to send a small sample (5000 words max) of your recent fiction or narrative nonfiction to Greg at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include a little background information regarding your writing interests and experience. We're currently looking for a few new members. We keep the group small so we can give careful attention to each submission from a member. But we consider applications at all times, and admit new members whenever their talents and our interests are a good fit.
