Hey Everyone, Just a few reminders for Saturday and directions for those that are driving.

If you are riding the bus, please be at West Oakland BART, NO LATER than 4:30 AM.

The temperature is currently scheduled to be 92 degrees and even though the majority of the hike is shaded, it feels warmer along the trails.

Please remember to hydrate all week, pack snacks, a lunch and bring water for the hike.

If you have questions please ask beforehand as I will not have service at the trail.

These directions are from Oakland. There's no physical address. We're meeting at the Bull Creek Flat/Big Tree Area.

Take 580 W to 80 E

Use the right two lanes to merge on to 580 toward San Rafael/Point Richmond

After about 13 miles, Merge onto US 101 N

Take 101 N for about 220 Miles until you reach exit 663 toward South Fork/Honeydew/Ca-254.

Take Exit 663 and you'll see Rockerfeller Grove as you exit (stop there for bathrooms if you need it)

Make a left onto CA-254 N and travel about 3 blocks

Make another left onto Bull Creek Flats Rd and go under the overpass.

Take it about 3.5 miles and you'll see the Bull Creek Flat Area/Big Tree Area on your left hand side.

Good Morning Everyone,

Most of the verbage will be the same as the Yosemite trip as the distance from the Bay is a little further in mileage but the same in time.

A few things first before I get into the details of the trip. Some may sound, 'mean', but when time/money are involved I like to be thorough. If you are driving yourself, I'll create a separate post with details that you'll need for where to meet us and everything. I'm sure this will fill up rather quickly, so please purchase your seat early. Since the company charges us based on full capacity, refunds can only be given due to cancellation if there is someone on the wait list to take your spot. I will be keeping a waiting list and there's an order involved so please do not post on the page if you need to sell your ticket because that would be unfair to those that are listed as waiting. Also, I know things will come up between now and August 26th, but the sooner you let me know you are unable to make it, the sooner I can try to sell your spot. I've had people wait until the morning of to tell me that they won't be coming. This is an all day trip and can be taxing for some so please take that into consideration. You can def. sleep on the bus on the way there and back home. If you ride the bus down and find a ride back, please let myself, Stayce or Tracy know before you leave. If you bring ANYTHING on the bus, please make sure you take it with you when you arrive back in Oakland...this includes ALL trash. Violators to either of these items will not be allowed back on bus trips. We HATE policing adults but we also hate babysitting or cleaning up after adults as well, so please help us make the trips smooth for everyone involved. Hate to sound harsh but for some reason, there's always 1 or two that I need to say this to.

Now, on to the details. The price will be $40. As of now, I don't think there is a fee for parking where we are going but I'll let you know for sure soon. You can PayPal me at Stan.Miles24@gmail.com. PLEASE select family/friends and not goods/service. I mention this every time, yet someone still does not follow the instructions. This ends up meaning I have to cover a cost for you, so your payment will be returned minus the fee Paypal charged and you will not have a seat reserved. Also, please list your first and last name in the notes area as some of your PayPal accounts do not indicate who you are as they're connected to your business name or a nickname. If you are using Venmo or the Cash app, please also list your full name in the notes. There are 56 seats on the bus and please remember that members from our MeetUp group will be invited as well so they will go quickly. If all seats are taken and you'd like to be added to the waiting list, please let me know. I'll post how many seats are left throughout the day. Thank you!

Like Yosemite, we want to get an early start so that we're not as affected by traffic. So the bus will be departing at 5 AM, which means we need to be at West Oakland BART by 4:30 AM so I can get everyone checked in and we can get everyone loaded on the bus in time. Again, every single trip we have someone pulling up at the last minute. I cannot hold the bus so please do not ask me to the morning of...Someone always ask. Set three alarms and please be on time.

The trail will be 8-10 miles depending on how much you want to complete. There is very little incline on this hike as the beauty is in the area itself, not the peak.

Please remember shoes with good traction, a snack for the trail, water or a sports drink and your whistle (if you do not have one yet, please see me before the hike). I'll update temperature information as we get closer to takeoff so you'll know how to dress. Also, pack a lunch for yourself so that you can refuel afterwards. I'll have water and Gatorade as usual for after the hike.

If you are driving, please anticipate us arriving in the area by 9:00-9:30 am. I'll post driving directions as we get closer to the departure date. You can also follow the bus if you like.
