Meet Amazing Data Women - Talks on Data Visualisation

Details

This group is for women who work with and love data. Our goal is to bring together women who work in data or who would like work in data - to support one another, share experiences and talk data - big or small! Whether you’re a student just embarking on a career or a seasoned data professional, this group is for you. We want to connect and inspire amazing data women with diverse expertise and experience.

At this event, we’ll have more great talks from data analysts, scientists and researchers so come along, ask questions and meet other women who love data!

Agenda:
• 18:30- 19:00 Networking with pizza & drinks
• 19:00- 20:30 Lightning talks from our women in data speakers and Q&A
• 20:30- 21:00 Networking & wrap-up

Speakers:
• Natalie Stephenson (https://twitter.com/NatalieS_MCR, https://www.linkedin.com/in/natalie-stephenson-mcr/), Data Analyst @ KPMG: Natalie’s passion for all things data started with high school science classes. It was this love of “playing” rather than learning that drove her initial career trajectory as an Academic Researcher. Her Biophysics PhD and subsequent research positions at CRUK let her mix lab based experiments with computational modelling. This love of computational modelling and data analytics drove her to move away from academic research into her current role as a Data Analyst at KPMG, where she gets to “play” with data all day long.

• Ella Worsdale (https://twitter.com/ellaworsdale, https://www.linkedin.com/in/ella-worsdale-ab120a8/, https://dataliciously-ella.blog/), Head of Information at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust: Ella has been working for the NHS for over 14 years and has progressed from Information Analyst to Head of Information. Ella discovered Tableau (a data visualisation tool) over three years ago and immediately visioned a new informatics tool for a changing NHS Trust. Ella has since implemented Tableau across the Trust to over 700 clinical and corporate leads. Tableau implementation is now regarded as one of the most important shifts in culture in the Trust; true evidence based practice. Ella is now working with others across the organisation to fully embed a data driven culture, so that the organisation, its staff and ultimately its patients benefit from real evidence based decisions. Ella has a real passion for leadership and in 2018 won the Digital Health Future Digital Leader Award, which she feels was a massive honour and a great recognition of the work she has done over the last few years.

• Jennifer Stark (https://twitter.com/_JAStark, https://www.linkedin.com/in/starkja/, https://www.foxling.co/), Data Engineer & Analyst at SpareRoom.co.uk: Jennifer is a Manchester based Data Engineer and analyst who uses python and Google Cloud Platform to develop data pipelines and data products. She has a PhD in Neuroscience from University of Manchester, a Professional Masters in Information Visualization, and a Certificate in Data Science.
