Halifax Data Science Meetup – October 2018
Hi everyone, Come talk data science with us on Thursday October 25th! We'll meet up at 6:00 pm, and kick off talks at around 6:30 pm. Domenic Rosati from Manifold will speak about the complexity of server and networking operations, some of the challenges such as efficient and robust capacity planning and networking, and how their team can use forecasting, simulation, and optimization to help with provisioning the right amount of compute resources for their applications in order to meet service level objectives. 2. Using data science to find out how wild bees live in the city. Methods discussed include: ordination techniques, linear regression models, citizen science data, Brownian motion models, phylogenetic construction, GIS, R programming.
