What We Will Do

Each year, the Haw River Assembly (http://www.hawriver.org/) (HRA) asks for Teams to volunteer to cleanup shoreline areas of their choice. Join Clean Jordan Lake in HRA's 22nd Annual Clean-Up-A-Thon. Clean Jordan Lake (CJL) will work together with the Army Corps of Engineers to remove trash from sections of shoreline on the Haw River Arm. View a map (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=211094745214091251370.0004b12d07c5bee32d4b1&msa=0) showing CJL's progress to date in removing trash from over 6 miles of shoreline and the location of areas targeted for 2012. Boaters and walkers are welcome.

Meetup Locations for Boaters and Walkers

Revised (Mar. 17th) Meetup Location. Boaters and walkers will now register at the Robeson Creek Boat Ramp. Look for Clean Jordan Lake signs on Hanks Chapel Rd. and Gum Springs Church Rd. (same road but name changes near ramp entrance) to lead you to the boat ramp.

Because the original access path for Walkers to the cleanup area is very muddy, we will use alternate access off Providence Church Rd. which is just a little north of original point on Gum Springs Church Rd. There is ample parking along this road. This is now less than 1 mi. from Robeson Creek Boat Ramp. It is also accessible by clicking on "More" tab on the Meetup menu bar followed by clicking on "Files."

Registration will begin at 9am. A safety briefing will be given, risk waiver forms will be signed and bags, gloves and snacks will be distributed. The cleanup will last until 1pm. Volunteers are free to work all or part of this time period.
