# The event loop and your code

The event loop is a core concept in Javascript. It is fundamental in order to understand how asynchronous code works – and how not to work with synchronous code. In this talk, we will see a live event loop, and watch it from afar as it roams the wilds (well.. the www). By the end of this talk, you will understand what is the event loop, how it works, and practical tips on how to use this knowledge.
