亲爱的动物园 Chinese Storytelling and Craft - Bring home a book and more!

Back with more sessions in the West and outdoors, as requested!

Kids of ages 18m - 4 years old can join us for a session based on the well-known 亲爱的动物园 Dear Zoo! Other ages are welcome too (:

We're going to... 我们会有

• sing and dance 唱歌跳舞
• make a craft 做做手工
• learn about animals 认知动物
• read the story together 听听故事
• enjoy sensory play 感官玩乐
• connect and swap stories 交换心得
• (NEW!) recite a Tang poem 唐诗朗诵
• (NEW!) play family bonding games 亲子游戏

Participants will also get to bring home

• the book we read together
• the craft we made
  and more!

After the session, feel free to browse through my personal collection of Chinese kids literature titles.

Session will be conducted mostly in Mandarin.
Some English translation can be provided upon request.

Fee:
$30 per parent-child pair.
If a sibling attends the same session: $10 per additional parent-child pair (book not included).
Limited to 16 parent-child pairs for this session.

How to register:

• RSVP at Meetup only (requested by Kevy of Home Play Sg)
  by Tuesday 20 November 2018 noon. Please indicate your name, English and Chinese name(s) of your child(ren) and age, mobile number and email
• Upon RSVP and payment, please proceed to notify mummy Linxin via Whatsapp at 94385623
• Payment should be made within 48 hours of RSVP, else the slot may be released for the next family
• More details will be furnished for interested participants

Refund and Cancellation Policy:

• If you are unable to attend, no refund will be payable but you are allowed to transfer to other family/friend to attend.

My Story:
Early on in my own bilingual parenting journey, I have often felt lost and alone, not having many peers who are raising kids at the same time.
A lot of what I learnt over time, came by trial and error, actively seeking out others who are more experienced, with better ideas and tips than myself, sitting at their feet, soaking in their advice and recommendations, and poring through research and articles... then going back to reflect on my own family's situation, list down the resources available, observe my kids' interests and abilities, before drawing my own conclusions, and making a game plan.

I believe in using well-written living literature to...
add breadth and depth to our conversations,
make learning useful and fun, and
share memories that last a lifetime.
