HoustonPhotowalks has spent the night in some amazing places. We slept in the USS TEXAS battleship, several cruise ships, camping in the woods, and even spent the night in a Castle!
But this time, I think we've outdone ourselves! We will be spending the night inside the Houston IKEA building on Katy Freeway. If you have been to this store, you know there are thousands of products that would make for interesting photography subjects, both furniture and small items.
The store has entire sections set up like rooms in a home, allowing us to practice interior design photography. And since the lights will be dim, we will get to practice low light photography as well!
The store closes at 9pm, but security doesn't turn off the lights until around 11pm. That's when we will emerge from our hiding places and start exploring the store and the photographic opportunities it offers. For more info about spending the night in an IKEA store, check out this video:

Travel light, just a camera, bottle of water and a snack.
