This weekend-long event will include Low Light Photography classes, two photowalks, a Night shoot with stars, a nature walk, dinner and breakfast, an optional Sunrise shoot, and overnight sleeping bag accommodations in an extremely unusual camp site ( http://newmanscastle.com/castle ) -- all for less than the cost of a hotel room!

NOTE: Event is limited to 30 photographers.

We start by meeting at 10am for Brunch at the famous Newman's Bakery. Then we photowalk our way around the Historic Downtown Bellville, Texas.

After grabbing lunch at a local restaurant, we will caravan in our cars to our overnight location, a secluded and very unique structure, buried in the woods, called Newman's Castle ( http://newmanscastle.com/ )!

Once you have a chance to photowalk your surroundings, our host Mike Newman will provide us a dinner in the structure's dining hall. While there, I'll teach a primer class about nighttime photography and how to capture "star trails" with long exposure. (BRING YOUR TRIPODS!)

You can stay up late photographing the stars and the Castle; when you're tuckered out, crawl in your sleeping bag until the optional Sunrise shoot (set your cell phone alarm to wake you up before dawn!).

We will enjoy a morning breakfast and the adventurous can roam the grounds to photograph early morning nature.

At about 10 or 11am, it will be time to pack up, thank the Castle's host and head back into town for some non-group, on-your-own Bellville photo roaming until you are ready to head back to Houston!

Air mattress is ok, so are cots. There is tent space outside of the compound, but most of us will be inside. It's thick wooded area with critters, snakes and the like. You can tent in the bushes if you are an experienced outdoor person. Bring your own toiletries, we will have a water hose to take a group shower at 7am.
