Gator Country is right outside of Beaumont, Texas, and is the former site of an illegal alligator farm. It was purchased and refurbished into a rescue facility for surrendered or abandoned exotic pets, alligators, and crocodiles. While there, we will see exotic snakes, lizards, tortoises, caimans, and many other reptiles and mammals on the grounds.

This is a very family-friendly location, feel free to sign up guests with your RSVP.

Entry fee is $17 Per Person, collected in advance when you sign up.

Feeding starts at 12 noon, which includes educational information and watching the gators grab bits of chicken dinner.

  • Be sure and bring a circular polarizer to reduce reflections on glass aquariums.
  • Consider bringing your long telephoto to get up close to the gators.
  • Consider bringing a macro lens to get shots of the smaller critters.

I will pay in advance so you don't have to wait in a long line of other Photowalkers. We will plan to meet about 15 minutes before they open to make sure everyone is there and can go in all at once.

The group won't be able to wait for anyone running late. Watch your travel time carefully. :) If you arrive late, and I go outside to find you, I have to pay to get back inside. SO PLEASE be on time. :)

** UPDATE ** The address is really weird, Google Maps shows the same address in two different places. Be sure and search your GPS by the "Gator Country 21159 FM 365 Beaumont, Tx 77705" and not just the address or you will end up in the wrong place.

The address is

Gator Country 21159 FM 365 Beaumont, Tx 77705

Exit 838 @ I-10 & FM 365

Just look for the big green alligator signs!
