Photowalk: Nice, Friendly Stroll Down Westheimer

Update 10-21-2011: If you easily get lost in the dark or creeped out by creepy noises, you might want to print out THE ROUTE MAP (http://www.google.com/maps/ms?msid=208751372810219239823.0004ae520014d08229a8e&msa=0&ll=29.741035,-95.40243&spn=0.010433,0.017112). And everyone planning to stay late should bring a flashlight, they make good protection against things that go bump in the night -- and light your way.

The map includes a few possible parking locations. Be sure you don't park in TOW AWAY ZONES or reserved parking. How many horror films include a scene with someone waiting alone at night for their ride to pick them up? It never turns out well.

Update 10-14-2011: Not gonna lie to you folks, with 100+ people signed up, parking's going to be difficult. But don't let that SCARE you off. Travis over at Lone Star BikeCab says he'll have a couple bikes on location, so bring some cash. And he says they will stick around to take you back to your car ... in case you survive the photowalk. I will be posting a map of our route with some possible parking locations the day before.

If this is your first meetup at HoustonPhotowalks.com -- we sometimes ask members to update your will and inform your kin folk where you are going ... just in case.

Update 9-26-2011: Well, I picked a nice spot for us to meet. I haven't check the location out, it should be pretty safe at night, right? This photowalk is Horrifyingly unorganized, but what could go wrong? But bring a first aid kit, just in case.

Its been a while since we last did just a friendly photowalk stroll, taking pictures and having a good time. Lets meet up somewhere along Westheimer, maybe near the antique shops? I'll post more solid details later on.

Bring the family and plan to stay till after dark, we'll practice taking some night-shots too.

The area I'm considering seems mostly safe ... but please wear good running shoes, just in case.
