Glenwood Caverns is a cave complex/ theme park on the mountain south of Glenwood Springs. They are offering Winter on the Mountain, where the complex is decorated, the caves are illuminated in holiday colors, and it's possible to ride the alpine slide in the dark. I love that slide, it's on rails so there is no risk of sliding off, and the nightime view of Glenwood Springs sounds awesome! https://www.glenwoodcaverns.com For the more adventurous, they have a Wild Cave tour that I would love to do: https://www.glenwoodcaverns.com/cave-tours/wild-cave-tours
Five day road trip through New Mexico with an emphasis on Carlsbad Caverns and a side trip to Meow Wolf. Carlsbad Caverns is spectacular. Not only will be be able to explore the great hall on our own, but we'll spend two days going on three small group tours into the heart of the cave complex. On our way down, we'll stop at Meow Wolf's House of Eternal Return, an interactive art exhibit that's like walking into a real life fantasy novel. On our way back, we may stop at White Sands, the International UFO Museum in Roswell, or anything else that seems cool. Thursday morning we'll meet at Meow Wolf: https://santafe.meowwolf.com/about Thursday afternoon/ evening we'll migrate down to Carlsbad Friday we'll explore the Slaughter Canyon complex: https://www.nps.gov/cave/planyourvisit/slaughter_canyon_cave_tour.htm Saturday we'll explore both the Lower Cave and the Left Hand Tunnel: https://www.nps.gov/cave/planyourvisit/lower_cave.htm https://www.nps.gov/cave/planyourvisit/left_hand_tunnel.htm Sunday and Monday are yet unscheduled, it takes about a day to get back to Denver and keeping options open allows us to seize yet unknown opportunities. White Sands, Roswell, or return to Meow Wolf and head up through Taos. Tickets and reservations should be made in advance. I'm comfortable carpooling with people I know very well, but prefer to meet new friends at the specific destinations.
The Bug Theater's Equinox Productions offers some of the most entertaining theater in Denver. Tickets can be bought online at: http://www.equinoxtheatredenver.com (Select Buy Tickets from the top header) It's general seating. We'll meet in front of the theater 6:45pm, doors open 7pm and that gives us a chance to meet/ sit together. The show will start 7:30pm and there will be an intermission halfway through. This is one of those really fun productions where the director's probably operating the concession stand. From the theaters site: Jimmy Livingston was born without immunities and has spent his entire life confined inside a plastic bubble room. Enter Chloe, the girl next door, who becomes his friend and steals his heart. When she leaves town to get married, Jimmy travels cross-country in a homemade bubble suit in order to stop the wedding and finally tell her how he feels. Along the laugh-filled journey he deals with a crazy cult, a biker gang, a dead cow, and a controlling mother who will stop at nothing to get him back in the bubble.
