What we're about

Our group hosts live presentations and Q&A with individuals whose lives have been miraculously changed by a near-death experience. Many return completely transformed, having lost all fear of death and bring messages of great inspiration hope, and love.

Each month, our members have an opportunity to hear dramatic, life changing NDE accounts directly from experiencers. Then, everyone will have an opportunity to ask questions during the extended Q&A period.
As a chapter of the International Association of Near-Death Studies, IANDS Northern Virginia's mission is to provide information to individuals interested in this phenomenon and to support those who have experienced an NDE.

We also have an interest in all things metaphysical and sometimes include topics of that nature.  Our meetings are typically on the 4th Sunday of the month at 2PM (online) or in the early afternoon in the Vienna/Oakton area of NoVA (in-person).  Since COVID-19, we have been holding VIRTUAL meetings.

If you have any questions on how to RSVP and attend an event or donate, be sure to email me: AngieWQ09@gmail.com.  Our donation is $10 per event to cover expenses, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Thanks Angie

Dr. Alan Hugenot - His NDE & Research on the Survival of Consciousness

Needs a location

Dr. Alan Hugenot made a life study of the scientific basis for the afterlife. Today, continuing to research consciousness survival, many questions remain. The true nature of consciousness survival may always remain a mystery, but rigorous research shows death, like birth, may be a mere passing from one state of consciousness into another.

An NDE survivor and a physicist, he has the knowledge, experience, and research data necessary to provide insight on these questions. Since publication of his book in 2012 he speaks several times each month before local groups, and at several national conventions on consciousness organizations.

Dr. Hugenot, holds a Doctorate of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and is a nationally recognized expert in physics & engineering science, currently he serves on five engineering standards writing committees for NFPA, ASHRAE, SNAME & ABYC, and is currently chairman of one. His consciousness research continues as a Professional Member of the International Association for Near Death Studies (IANDS), an active member of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), and the Foundation for Mind Being Research (FMBR).

Our IANDS chapter is now partnering with Unity of Fairfax Church. Our mission is to offer a venue for sharing and learning to individuals who have experienced a Near Death Experience, (NDE), a Share Death Experience (SDE), a Spiritually Transformative Experience (STE) or who are merely interested in NDEs and other metaphysical topics. We invite speakers, view videos, hold Q&A sessions, and encourage discussion in a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment.

Everyone is welcome! We meet virtually via Zoom most fourth (that can vary) Sundays of the month (except for September) at 2pm EST. During COVID-19, all our meetings are virtually. Eventually, we hope to offer a hybrid format where people can attend in-person or virtually. Our $10 fee is split with Unity and helps to offset Speaker fees, IANDS’ dues, Zoom, Meetup and Vimeo subscriptions, equipment and more.

For more information about our Chapter, please join our IANDS NoVA Meetup Group. You can also follow us on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I hope to see you at an event very soon!

Angie, Chapter Host (email: [masked]).
