http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/6/b/event_22742155.jpegThe Great Rabbit Spirit calls! The wisdom of Rabbit has been teaching humanity since the beginning of time. This symbol of spring and fertility has become associated with the Christian day called Easter. The Rabbit brings us gifts and treats on this Sunday (even for those who are not Christian), the Sunday after the first full moon after Spring Equinox.
Rabbit Spirit knows that you know... Rabbit wisdom, is far older than recent "Easter" tales.
For this circle, we will connect with the Great Giver "Rabbit".
In China, it is one of the astrological animals and linked too good fortune and the moon.
The Rabbit is also linked with the goddess Hecate.
Among the Ojibwe, Nanabozho is a spirit, and figures prominently in their storytelling, including the story of the world's creation.
Nanabozho was one of four sons of Wiininwaa ("Nourishment"),[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanabozho#cite_note-0) a human mother, and E-bangishimog ("In the West"), a spirit father.
Nanabozho most often appears in the shape of a rabbit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit) and is characterized as a trickster. In his rabbit form, he is called Mishaabooz ("Great rabbit" or "Hare") or Chi-waabooz ("Big rabbit"). He was sent to Earth by Gitchi Manitou (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gitchi_Manitou) to teach the Ojibwe. One of his first tasks was to name all the plants and animals. Nanabozho is considered to be the founder of Midewiwin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midewiwin). Like the Egyptian god Thoth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoth), he is thought to be the inventor of fishing and hieroglyphs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ojibwe_writing_systems#Ojibwe_.22hieroglyphs.22). This deity is a shape-shifter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shape-shifter) and a cocreator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creator_deity) of the world
In the traditions of Egypt and Persia there are such rabbit gods, and they were particularly honored in the Springtime.
The Rabbit has wisdom for you on this day!
