What we're about

This group is dedicated to friendly mature singles 30ish to 60ish who want to meet quality people right here in the neighborhood for friendship or romance. The Yin to the Yang so to speak.

How many times have you been at home on a weekend night watching TV thinking "I wish I had someone I can call right now and do something fun?" Well this is the group for you!

How many of you are NOT looking for romance but long for friends that have similar interests as you? Flea markets, shopping, lunch and movie anyone?

How many of you are sick of going through the holidays alone ... again?

This group is a friendly bunch so if it is your first time or you have been with us since the beginning you will be greeted and seated among friends who are at the event for the same reason you are.

A CURRENT picture of yourself is required to join this group it used for no other reason but to identify you at events. Your cooperation is appreciated.

We all want to be In Good Company.

Check the calendar for our next event and I hope to see you there.

Monday Evening Hike-5:30PM

Herrick Lake Forest Preserve

The warmer weather is here so let's enjoy everything that Herrick Lake Forest Preserves has to offer by going for a hike on the nature trail. This event is run with several other Meetup groups so what a great way to get our fitness on... right? If this is your first event with IGC or your first time with the hiking group, look for Art the event host and he will introduce you around. "After the retreat of the Wisconsin Glacier, the land that is now Herrick Lake Forest Preserve grew into prairies with scattered woodlands. For thousands of years, different groups of indigenous people passed through the area, some to hunt and move on, others to settle for varied periods of time. The last of these groups to call this land home was the Potawatomi, who had settled in the area by the late 1600s. Their well-traveled trails served as the basis for Butterfield and Warrenville roads". Meet at Herrick Lake west lot... the entrance is off Herrick Rd. about two blocks south of Rt. 56 (Butterfield Rd.). NOT THE MAIN LOT OFF OF Rt. 56 (Butterfield Rd.). We will be meeting at the south end of the lake and on the map you will see the entrance is on Herrick Rd. which is the west boundary of the woods. ON THE FOLLOWING MAP LINK THERE IS A SMALL "P" INDICATING THE WEST LOT ON THE LOWER PART OF THE MAP: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.8285003,-88.145559,765m/data=!3m1!1e3 This event will occur every Monday however in the event of severe weather or trails not being suitable for hiking this event will be canceled so please check the calendar before event for updates. Let's Volunteer at the Northern Illinois Food Bank

Northern Illinois Food Bank

Calling all volunteers to go to our favorite place to help our hungry neighbors. No one should go hungry when we have so much food to share right? "Northern Illinois Food Bank leads the northern Illinois community in solving hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need through innovative programs and partnerships. Since 1983, food manufacturers, local groceries, corporations, foundations and individuals have come together to donate food and funds, and evaluate and repack food for distribution to 800 network partners serving more than 71,000 hungry neighbors each week across 13 counties. That commitment provided 50 million meals last year to those in need. Our vision is for no one to be hungry in northern Illinois." Here is their website for more information: http://solvehungertoday.org/ These shifts are three hours long and require pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, bending, etc. If these activities are not recommended by your doctor then this event would not be for you. See you there.
