"Presqu’ile is a gravity-flow winery, which means that both the grapes and wine move through the winery by gravity, starting high up on the crush pad, 110 feet above the barrel cave. Gravity flow is a much gentler way of handling grapes and making wine. It also doesn’t require as much power to run.
When it comes to the wines, Murphy says “the trifecta of elegance, balance and being true to the site is our mantra.” Cronje echoes that philosophy, saying “unique wines come from unique places, so don’t mess with the wine, just let the wine show itself.”
From the sauvignon blanc to the estate pinot noir, all the wines share a common thread of high acid, minerality and elegance with bright fruit."
